Welcome to the Improving Pig Survivability Project

Virtual Barn Tours

Gestation

 Take a tour through a gestation barn, where mama pigs, known as sows, spend their 3 month, 3 week and 3 day long pregnancy. 

Farrowing

 Take a tour through a farrowing barn, which is where piglets spend the first few weeks of their life with their moms, also known as sows. 

Nursery

 Take a tour through a nursery barn, where piglets spend about five weeks of their lives. The barn is heated up to 90 degrees, for optimal comfort of the pigs.

Finishing

 Take a tour through a finishing barn, which pigs have space to grow to market weight.
